Young Tassie Scientists – Visits for Schools
Young Tassie Scientists 2022 - School Visit Application FormThe Young Tassie Scientists will be on the road again this August in celebration of National Science Week. Teachers can apply for a free school visit here!
What does a classroom visit from the Young Tassie Scientists involve?
A YTS school visit usually takes 70 minutes and involves 3 classes of 30 students. Where a fourth Scientist is available, we can accommodate four classes during the visit.
Three or four Young Tassie Scientists will arrive at your school and will set up in separate classrooms. Each YTS will give their 20-minute interactive presentation to a class, then classes rotate between classrooms until they have seen three scientists.
All Young Tassie Scientists have current Working With Vulnerable People registration.
You will be advised ahead of time which Young Tassie Scientists will come to your school. Each scientist is profiled on the website, and in some cases, have prepared short videos (2-5 minutes). You are very welcome to have your class watch these and prepare questions for the scientists in advance.
Scientist profiles of the 2022 YTS Team will be available at youngtassiescientists.com from mid-to-late June 2022.
